For over 20 years, a man named Joseph Kony became a warlord. He kidnaps children, forcing them to be soldiers or sex slaves. Forgiveness is a touchy subject to discuss. It is very wrong to force children into killing their own parents and then becoming soldiers for this horrible man. We should learn to forgive people even though they mistreat us or the people around us. It will take time to heal from the trauma he has caused for so many years, but in the end we should forgive him.
If he caused so much trauma for so many people, why should anyone forgive him?
ReplyDeleteYou have a very good point. In the end you have to forgive everybody, no matter what. It's even in the Bible that you're supposed to do so. People may forgive him, but it will probably take a lot of time to forgive him.
ReplyDeleteYou have to put your self in the position of the children of Uganda. Would you want people to forgive the person that forced you to kill your own parents and then made you become a solder/sex slave? I understand your religious views of the matter, but not everybody is of the same religion, therefore your point should go towards every type of person.

ReplyDeleteyeah you have a good point there, idk if id forgive someone who came in an kidnapped kids and made them slaves and kill. if it was me i wouldnt forgive him i think he deserves to die for what he's done. thats just me though
ReplyDeleteReligious or not, a good person forgives. Yes, there will probably be more people that wouldn't forgive him because they don't have the moral value of unconditional forgiveness. But believe it or not, there could be good things that come from the devastation. That may sound a bit irrational unless you really think about and dig deep into the advantages and disadvantages of the effects. One thing to spring the idea of an advantage would be the coming together of nations to help stop this man. Touching stories could come from it, and society may learn something valuable and change it in good ways. There are many things to think about in this situation. A lot of people believe that everything happens for a reason. If someone honestly believes that, they probably are a very forgiving person. Everyone will have varied beliefs about forgiveness, but no one who lives on the Earth will know how to put the correct scales on situations and see the truth behind the forgiveness. It's simply unfathomable.
ReplyDeleteGod forgives our sins every single day. We don't deserve that, but he still shows us mercy. Therefore, we should forgive others too.
