Looters Should Lay Off!
Looters have no right to prowl around the stores of hard working men and women. New York Daily News states, "They destroyed everything. They stole anything they could get their hands on." These Americans have worked too hard to have hoodlums break in their stores and steal things. Yes, Sandy, the super storm that swept through the east coast of the United Sates, left so much damage, but that does not mean people can destroy people's lives even more. The Daily News also said, "They looked almost happy." I do not think anyone should be happy about taking other people's things. No one should ever sabotage fellow citizens even more after nature strikes. Looters need to sincerely buy their supplies and not steal from innocent people who have already been affected by the storm.

One Hot Dog!
A truck’s engine reaches at least
200 degrees when it is running. In South Carolina, a stray dog climbed into a
man’s engine to his truck and rode 110 miles. It is unbelievable that the dog was
okay! He climbed out when the man’s truck arrived at his destination.
The
dog was affected by the weather outside as well. It was one hundred degrees
outside added on to the minimum of two hundred degrees of the engine. I do not
see how the dog could stand so much heat at once. The dog was 25 pounds. So, the
dog is a medium size dog.
I
once had a cat, four years ago, that would ride around with us in the engine.
We never noticed it until I saw him crawl out one day after getting home from
the grocery store. My cat crawled out and looked up at me with his adorable
little face. At first, we thought it was funny, but then we thought about how
hot the engine to our car got. We were always worried he would get a severe
burn or crawl out while we were running an errand and run away.
It
amazes me how the 25 pound dog could even fit above the trucks engine. My cat
was much smaller than 25 pounds so he could maneuver around the engine much
more easily than the larger dog. I wonder how the dog rode there for so long
and come out uninjured.
Once
the man had stopped, he noticed some of the dog’s fur on one of his wheels. He
then saw the dog come out from under his vehicle. He realized that the dog had
been under his car the whole time. He called the local animal control to take
him and give him a check up. The dog was perfectly fine once he got in the air
conditioning. My cat was never in the engine for very long when it was running,
yet I am sure that it was not very cool where he sat. He never had any noticeable
problems occurring from taking his little road trips.
Hopefully,
the dog will find a loving family to adopt him at an animal shelter. He will
most definitely enjoy riding in the cab of a truck rather than a seat on the
engine.

High Speed Chase!
West Batesville Magnet School goes on lock down, due to a high speed police chase to arrest Derrick Hicks. Hicks started sending text messages to a woman, who is employed at the Batesville humane society, telling her that he will stop by to get money from her. When he arrives at the humane society, the woman calls 911 because he is violating his protection order that the lady has on him. When Hicks realized she had called the cops, he fled. The police finally caught up to him around the area of Batesville West Magnet. They advised the school to go under lock down just in case this man would enter the school and cause many other problems. So, for all of the children's safety they did as the police had instructed them to do. Derrick Hicks drove his Dodge pickup truck into a field trying to escape from the police. The police arrested him a couple minutes later in the middle of the field, only a few blocks away from the elementary school. Because he fled when the police had showed up to see was going on, he is under investigative hold. He was also charged with violation of his protection order right off the bat. September 19 is his court date to appear before a judge so he can answer to his charges that have been made by the police.

Titanic
I was on the Titanic as it was a beautiful ship, and I was there when the beautiful ship became a drenched hell. There were so many people freezing to death and drowning, yet no one in charge seemed to care or do anything about it. Even though they could not stop the glorious ship from sinking they could have helped out so many more people than they actually did. Forgiveness is a tough subject in this situation. Captain Smith could have many more lives than he did. He could have alerted the right people sooner and faster than what he did. The Titanic's officers could have saved so many more people as well. The lifeboats should have been filled to their rightful capacity. Even though they made mistakes that costed so many people their lives, they deserve forgiveness. They were probably just in panic and in shock since this wonderful ship was in the process of going under.

Karl, the dying German soldier, does not deserve pity from anyone. He shot the family that jumped out of the burning house. He should not have killed the family. Even though he was apart of the soldiers who were killing the Jews, he could have stopped anytime. He had the choice to do what was right, yet he chose the wrong one. He knew what he was doing so why would he do something so cruel to so many people.

Forgiveness
For over 20 years, a man named Joseph Kony became a warlord. He kidnaps children, forcing them to be soldiers or sex slaves. Forgiveness is a touchy subject to discuss. It is very wrong to force children into killing their own parents and then becoming soldiers for this horrible man. We should learn to forgive people even though they mistreat us or the people around us. It will take time to heal from the trauma he has caused for so many years, but in the end we should forgive him.
